Mercantile was established in 1934 and has been operating as an accounts receivable management firm specializing in third-party contingency collection services and the development of billing programs designed to the specific needs of all segments of business. Mercantile operates major call centers in Rochester and Buffalo, NY, with the Buffalo office serving as Corporate Headquarters. We belong to and actively participate in numerous Professional Associations, including "ACA International" [formerly American Collectors Association], the largest trade association for third-party debt collection agencies, whose primary role is to help members prepare for, and stay ahead of, industry and environmental changes.

Mercantile's management team of Robert Roth and Jeffrey Miller, who purchased the business in March 2002, has over 50 years of lending, credit and collections experience. Robert E. Roth, CEO
With over 30 years of credit and lending experience, Bob was founder and CEO of Spectrum Home Mortgage Corporation, the largest retail residential lender in upstate New York, originating and servicing over $1 billion annually. After Spectrum was acquired by HSBC Bank USA, Bob was President at HSBC Mortgage Corporation, managing a nationwide network of over 800 employees.

Jeffrey P. Miller, President
With over 20 years of collections and credit experience, Jeff was Administrative Vice President, Consumer Finance for M&T Bank, where he managed a staff of 430 and consumer outstandings of $5 billion. He also served as Senior Vice President, Consumer Finance Operations for HSBC Bank USA, where he managed a staff of 830 and consumer outstandings of $13.1 billion.
